This example is the only one saved by James Schoppe among his vast archive of Return of the Jedi production used memorabilia.Īlso included are an original "Blue Harvest" sign, an original "Blue Harvest Wrap Party" poster for the cast and crew wrap party that took place on May 22, 1982, at the Crescent City Cultural Center (the poster states "your invitation is your admission – bring it with you") a "Ship Ashore" placement from the resort that some of the crew stayed at during filming in the Redwoods, and a fold-out "Visitors Guide Maps" for County of Del Norte and City of Crescent City.
"Blue Harvest" has gone on to become widely known among Star Wars fans as a result, with many jokes and Easter eggs being planted as a pop culture reference in other film and television productions. Included is an extremely rare production used "Blue Harvest" sign that crew placed on their car dashboards to gain access to shooting locations while making Return of the Jedi, which originally had a working title of "Revenge of the Jedi." The production created a faux horror film – "Blue Harvest" with the tagline "Horror Beyond Imagination" – in order to hide that they were in fact filming the third Star Wars film.
